PRIMA Pop-Up featuring Chef Daniel Skurnick
Monday, March 26, 2012 at 7:00 PM (HST)
After traveling extensively around the world, Daniel Skurnick made Oahu his home two years ago. While his experience on this island has been limited to Morimoto Waikiki, Skurnick's career on the mainland spans almost two decades in some of the top restaurants in the country.
While known for his pastry skills on this island, Skurnick spent the beginning of his career as a savory chef, working his way down the Hudson Valley of New York, until eventually finding himself in the kitchen of Tom Colicchio at Gramercy Tavern. Over the next 8 years, Skurnick worked at Bouley Restaurant, Jean Georges, and the River Cafe. After a final stint as Regional Pastry Chef for the Stephen Starr empire, Skurnick left the kitchen to travel and learn. He has always loved the islands since living here as a child; and now he is looking for ways to stimulate a thoughtful dining experience while using all that the area will provide.
